<p><strong>Use:</strong><br> This test is used to help detect protein-calorie malnutrition and to monitor the effectiveness of nutrition administered or occurring elsewhere in the body than the mouth and alimentary canal.</p> <p>Prealbumin is a protein that helps carry hormones that regulate how your body uses energy. Find out if your levels are within normal range!</p> <p>Drugs such as amiodarone, estrogens, and birth control pills can decrease prealbumin levels.
