<p><strong>Use:</strong><br> This test is used to find out the cause of calcium imbalances and to evaluate parathyroid function. This test can also diagnose and make a distinction between the 3 stages of hyperparathyroidism and can diagnose hypoparathyroidism.</p> <p>Hyperparathyroidism is when there is an abnormally high level of parathyroid hormone in the blood, which causes bone weakness through loss of calcium.
