Stool Test for Ova and Parasites in Stool

<p><strong>Use:</strong><br> This stool test is used to test for parasites in stool and to detect an intestinal infection due to certain parasitic organisms.</p> <p>It should be noted that there are certain parasites commonly identified in the stool of AIDS patients include Cryptosporidium, Isospora, Entamoeba histolytica, and Giardia lamblia. This routine ova and parasite study does test for this organism.</p> <p><strong>Recommended For:</strong><br> Diagnosing infestation and monitoring elimination of parasites like hookworm, pinworm, etc.</p> <p><strong>Special Notes:</strong><br> No special preparation is necessary prior to collection.</p> <p><strong>Tests Included:</strong><br> Stool for Ova and Parasites - TC -681<br> Concentration of material and examination of specimen for ova and parasites by conventional iodine/saline and trichrome staining.
